so after just arriving in singapore, i’ve been a somewhat regular at the geek terminal. it’s really convenient as a place to go in, get some work done, with a power outlet to boot! so they’re rolling out these rfid chips for debit-style payments. i got mine today. :-)

just for laughs, i googled myself. things about me in the top 10:

  1. my linkedin profile
  2. not me
  3. my interview on virtual worlds news
  4. not me
  5. a post on the twinity blog about the beta starting soon
  6. a link to my youtube interview at metaverseu, via technorati
  7. a bio of me from nyls for state of play v in singapore
  8. not me
  9. my youtube interview, as mentioned in #6
  10. not my facebook profile, but another jeremy snyder’s

so i have 6 of the top 10. my new goal in life is to get all 10 of the top 10. just kidding! ;-)

i was struggling to stay awake tonight while i wrapped up work on a project. i put on some aesop rock, and it really helped keep those eyelids open.

i finished this book the other day:

main points:

  • you never know who is going to talk to whom, and therefore influence that other person
  • people participate in various networks (e.g. family, work, social) and they can spread their opinions in any of those networks
  • marketers who target key influencing customers often miss getting their message to the perceptually needed 10%
  • keep updating information
  • build suspense and excitement through mystery

in the end, though, i didn’t find this book that good. the examples weren’t great, and often didn’t really seem to support the author’s arguments to me. overall, the book wasn’t that informative and didn’t really connect with me.
